Comic Thought

The news has come out that multiple actors and actresses have been screening for upcoming films based on Marvel properties, specifically Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man and the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot.

Actress Evangeline Lilly, best known for her work on Lost and more recently in last year’s Hobbit sequel, has been in talks to join Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas in the upcoming Ant-Man film. It was revealed a few months back that Rudd would be playing the title character (later revealed to be the second Ant-Man Scott Lang) and Douglas joined on shortly afterwards as the original Ant-Man Hank Pym, but a female lead had yet to be cast. Though Lilly is still just in talks right now, a lot of people are speculating that she may end up playing Janet van Dyne, love interest of Ant-Man and who would later become known as The Wasp.

Happiness Starts Here

Today I am totally embracing the art of a lazy Saturday and it actually feels really good. I didn’t go to the gym this morning to run, and I’m not planning on doing any power yoga, and I’m okay with that. Yesterday morning my body felt tired even doing yoga so I’m taking it as a sign to take a break. That way tomorrow I’ll be ready to dive back in, feeling rested and happy. That being said, I feel like my appetite is on fire today, so I’m just going with it and eating possibly every hour. If I want to run a marathon I’m going to have to fuel for it too!!

Also, I know I am unbelievably late in recognizing how amazing this TV show is, but can I just say, IT’S AMAZING. Lena Dunham’s creation is so unlike anything I’ve seen on TV…

1,500 Words or Less

Hello out there! Welcome to my short story blog spot. I am, as stated on my about page, an aspiring writer. I live in a small, two bedroom apartment, above a book store. My goal is to write entertaining short stories for readers consideration.

Comic Con

My first love has always been science fiction and fantasy. I can remember watching the “Twilight Zone” when i was a kid and marveling at how Rod Serling could spin a tale in thirty minutes so fascinating that it would keep me thinking for days. I’m not saying that my stories compare. I can only dream. However my great hope is to write short scifi fantasy stories half as well. The only way I can do that is to practice and get my work out there. That is the purpose of this blog. I hope to write and publish a short story (1,500 words or less) …

SciFi Friday – Prometheus

As tonight is the debut of SyFy channels Helix I thought why not get in the spirit with one of my favorites…Prometheus.

Even though I am an avid SciFi fan I rarely blog on my SciFi adventures for a variety of reasons. Last week I really enjoyed the discussion of two movies I finally watched Elysium and After Earth so I thought I’d bring up one of the most controversial SciFi films to come out in the last five years.

Full disclosure. Prometheus was my favorite movie of 2012 by far.Alien is my favorite movie of all time and I saw this film for the first time on an 8 story tall IMAX screen that makes any movie better than it really is. So, I was incredibly excited for Ridley Scott to revisit this universe.

I was hoping for a prequel…

The Walking Dead Returns!   Leave a comment

young modern invaders

In a mere matter of hours, the apocalyptic greatness that is The Walking Dead will grace our small screens once again. The wait has been long but well worth it to see the much loved but tortured and tested characters pick up where they left off in the devastating mid season finale. After the heart wrenching last episode of 2013, which saw the prison become a battleground between Team Rick and the Governor and the sad demise of Hershel, the characters are left separated and displaced.  The safety of the prison has been destroyed and they are once again back on the run.
If you’re like me and are having trouble waiting these last few hours, take a look below for a sneak preview of what’s to come.
